What did you think of Camp Lazlo when you first saw it? For me, I was flipping through channels, and I saw the thing in the startup (I couldn't pronounce Lazlo's name well), and I was freaked out when I saw Joe Murray's name! I was like "WTF I thought they banned him from making more cartoons?!" So I watched it... I LOVED it. The first episode I ever saw was Gone Fishing (Sort Of)/Beans Are From Mars. I didn't start liking Clam until I saw Dosey Doe/Progedous Clamus XD

I first saw the preview for Camp Lazlo during the beginning of summer, it showed a clip from "Lights out". I saw the part where they mention the 'cannon' and they freak out because they don't want Lumpus to shoot the moon. My first reaction....
"OMG WHAT THE HECK IS THIS WHO IS THAT AND WHY DOES THAT PINK DUDE SCARE THE LIVING DONUTS OUTTA ME AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Raj freaked me out the most. But, a month later I guess, a show called "Camp Lazlo" airs its very first episode. I totally forgot this was the same show I saw in the preview, and loved it. It took me a while to remember it was the same show that freaked me out a month earlier, but I still loved it.

Actually, when I saw the previews I thought it would be really really stupid. Then one night I was randomly watching an episode of Foster's and it came on. My friend had told me it was just really random and weird, so I thought "okay, maybe I'll just watch it..." The episode that was on that night was Dosey Doe/Progidus Clamus. I FELL IN LOVE WITH CAMP LAZLO. And now I've been watching it every chance I get. I still wonder how I could have ever thought it was stupid.

LONG STORY: I am always prejudice with the coming of new cartoon shows actually. It probably started with the fall of the coolness of Nickelodeon. They started adding really retarded shows... and I developed a prejudice from that. So yeah. I thought Camp Lazlo was the stupidest thing ever. Also... I thought it was a rip off of Spongebob Squarepants because of the music similarities in some episodes. I watched a re-run of the first episode when I was really really BORED like... in the middle of July or something. I thought it was pretty dumb. Then I saw the same re-run again... then I noticed the similar voices... espeically Clam and Edward's voices. Clam sounded like Lube from CatDog and Edward conspicuously sounded like a mix of Plankton and Filbert... since Plankton had that intensity in his voice... and Filbert has the complaining and anger in his. I grew to like it after a few random episodes. The commercials also egged me on to view more episodes... because Slinkman ROCKS! HOLY CRAP HE ROCKS! I then started to love Clam as well in the marshmellow episode. He has a lot of similarities to myself. ^_^ After Dosey Doe/Progidious Clamus... I respected Clam to the MAX! I even bought ymself a 500-piece puzzle to see how long it would take me to solve it by myself! I scored with a terrible time of 4 hours, 42 minutes, and 31 seconds... plus some time was wasted trying to open the box. . I then discovered that Joe Murray created this show! I was all into Rocko's Modern Life for the longest time (I'm OBSESSED! YOU HAVE NO IDEA!!!) that I started seeing this as a rockin' show... even though it lacked the genius of Rocko. The simplicity of Camp Lazlo's characters made me have faith in myself to drew better. I've been trying sooo hard to Drew Rocko... but there are soooo amny extra lines and junk there. Murray himself said that Rocko was the most difficult to drew... thus in every show (ESPECIALLY Trash-O-Madness, which was actually supposed to be the first episode of Rocko to be released) Rocko looked a tiny bit different... since Murray had to teach all these US and Korean people to learn to draw him. Camp Lazlo's character was quick and easy... thus I knew that once I have master the art of this show... I can finally drew more complexe characters in Rocko's Modern Life. My drawing skills wouldn't have developed so quickly without this show... and the revival of my interest in Rocko. I, beleive it or not, used to draw anime... until I stopped for a looong time... and started getting frustrated with trying to re-learn this though skill. All my anime work have suddenly dissappeared. I only have a few pictures left... but they aren't very good. I totally went off topic... but whatever. This show changed my BORING END-O-SUMMER VACATION into a great long happy ending. I will always love Rocko's Modern Life over this show... thus making this my second favorite show (at the moment... I think). It's weird how I ever thought this new show would suck to the max. Joe Murray is my favorite cartoonist/animator/whateverheis. END OF LONG STORY. SHORT STORY: I thought it sucked but now I don't.

Oh gosh..
Netaro, I'm with you on the whole sucky new shows crap. It made me so sad when Nick went downhill. But I started to have hope when CN came out with the glorious Foster's. And now they have Camp Lazlo... They restored my faith in cartoonery.
Ask for Rocko.. I hardly remember anything of that show. *sobsobsonb* I know I loved it... but I can't remember anything about it! D: I have such a terrible memory...

I heard a lot of the show and decided to see it on Cartoon Network when it premiered. I thought it was a little stupid at first but later, I began liking it even more and I can't stop watching Camp Lazlo! I later figured out that the creater also made "Rocko's Modern Life"! I waked up at 4:30 AM last week just to see Camp Lazlo!

I was really excited when this show first came on because I could tell it was a Joe Murray cartoon(rocko is the coolest thing ever). I thought I was gonna like Catscratch more though, but I ended up liking CL a whole lot more. Catscratch was really cute though.
