I figure that since most people play video games, they might have a moment where the game makes them cry. Well, in this thread, you can share your saddest moment in gaming. It can be anything. It can be either a particular music that makes you sad, or a cutscene that just wants you to find a way to get rid of the sadness, but deep down, you can't. I'll start.
Super Mario Galaxy: Whenever I see a part of Princess Rosalina's past, the music and soft artstyle is what makes me a bit sad and happy, knowing the feeling of being alone and missing someone you love. I'm even tearing up now as we speak.
So, tell us your saddest moment. Remember, if it's something major, don't spoil it.

^ I remember that.. seeing those stories in the library right? yeah I kinda felt the same way, like being alone in space with just a star (isolation I guess) and missing others back where ya live (home sickness). yeah.. that was sad. can't think of anything else off hand but I know there's others besides the one you mentioned.

Yeah, and the music can just make you cry. I'm crying right now due to the music. Curse you soft melody! Curse you. But aside from the sadness, Mario Galaxy is still a great game. I give it a 10/10 overall, but I give it 100/10 for the great music and feeling to it.

yeah.. the music and still images add a lot to the feeling. other "sad" parts in games was when Aeris died in FF7 (that's a given). I've liked that series since around 92ish so I have a strong connection I guess ya can say to the plots in most of the games (mostly the older though).

Do you guys always have to start your post with "yeah"? XD
One particular sad moment for me in gaming were the parts in Halo 3 where they mention Cortana being seperated from Master Chief. That's all I gotta say right now.

Shadow of the Colossus is another game that has some sad moments. Let's just say that the ending is not a happy one.

Resident Evil 4 with Luis Sera's death. I mean, when I first played it on the Gamecube version, I did not see that coming.

I won't give it away (unless you guys want me to), but the ending to Ratchet And Clank Future felt sad to me. It didn't get me to cry or anything, but it still seemed sad.

Another sad moment in Halo 3 was when a major character dies in a cutscene on the seventh level. I honestly never thought that character would die. And the music that went with that moment was moving.

Yeah, Aerith's demise was sad for many people. For me, it was Gun, when Jenny died.
