Alright. Seriously, I need to get this off my chest. Here it goes:
Many of you have heard of the series Grand Theft Auto, correct? I'm sure some of you have even played it. Now, before I continue, let me just clarify that I haven't played the game yet; the only reason really being that it's a human shooter, and I perfer monster shooter games.
I'm highly aware that the game has recieved controversy after controversy. I don't mind controversy in general, but when I hear controversy for GTA, I often hear it from parents, teachers, and other people like that. I hear people getting worried sick over whether or not the game will make their kid violent, or if they'll start cussing their mouth off.
Now, also keep in mind that I'm not a parent, nor a teacher. I'm just a teenager with a weird mind. But... come on. You need to stop. Your nine year old son should not be playing it in the first place. I'm not even sure if a kid that young can tell the difference between fiction and reality, and you guys, the parents, need to be aware of this. That way, you don't go on a rampage once you find out that the kid was playing a violent video game and you didn't know.
Grand Theft Auto doesn't make kids violent, nor does it make them do anything, really. It just doesn't, from what I can see. Kids do. Don't blame the game just because you were looking the other way, or because they can't tell the difference between shooting a guy in the game, and shooting a guy in real life.
Thank you.

I don't think adults give enough credit to kids these days. It's like...basically saying were stupid...that every action we do is controlled by media inflluence...that we suddenly can't think for ourselves. No one can just grab a gun and shoot random people anymore, it's suddenly a subliminal message now, that they were under the inflience of video games? :/ What is it now, SUI? Shooting under influence? </lame joke>
But jeez it's like saying we can't justify our own actions...they're all influenced by video games now? When was I informed of this?! Get me a gun quick so I can get out of jail by blaming it on Halo 3!
Parents in general just annoy me...just aaagh stop talking on your cell phone and control your kid, you know?! D: Talk to them once in a while, I mean really. D: If there was enough parent involvement kids wouldn't try to get around their rules.
uggh I just agree with you for the most part...although I think that most kids DO know the difference between reality and fiction, they're just stupid.

I wrote a research paper similar to this topic. It got a C-, but I got my point out. Parents needs to monitor their kids more, look at the ratings on the games, and stop blaming the video game companies. It's their fault for buying these games for their kids. I swear, parent nowadays are starting to get more ignorant and stupid like the parents on South Park.

^I agree with you.
Why are all these people blaming the game companies, and I mean JUST the game companies. Yes I can understand that a certain game has either blood and gore, extreme violence, strong language, etc...
But there's a reason for the rating system. If those people claim that violent games make kids more violent, then why did the parents buy the game for them in the first place?
