Hey everyone! Here’s a few little things you need to know for the forum! Unlike Tiff's thread about how a forum works and junk, this thread is mainly for how to become an awesome member of the Camp Lazlo Forum ^_^. This is basically common sense... so it's not Greek or anything. Keep this thread as reference when you are in a jam and need a quick answer.
If you haven’t read the Forum Rules yet, I strongly suggest you do so to shield yourself from ridicule and embarrassment.

History:
[07-13-06] - Netaro creates thread and like… yeah. The thread’s been made.
[08-04-06] - Sanna edited/added some stuff. All of her input is in "Navy" blue. Also alot of this is basically focusing on like forum "manners", "courtesy" and "etiquette".... So maybe associate the Untitled-ness of this set of FAQ with those key words? Also may add stuff about not putting material/text that may be too disturbing or annoying in sigs/avvies.
[08-13-06] - Sanna added more stuff to the examples of stupid posts. The recent edit is the paragraph that starts with "**" at the beginning. I also added a bit about passwords because of lame [individual].
[08-15-06] - Netaro adds "WHY" to the thread.
[09-23-06] - Netaro fixes a few things up and adds introduction paragraph to beef up the hamburger of awesomeness. I also changed the title! WAHOO!
How do I get them little captions and/or little icons under my name?
Here on the Camp Lazlo Forum, we do things a bit differently. Unlike other forums and message boards out there, you’ve gotta EARN stuff. The little icons/pictures underneath one’s username are called Badges; The text underneath your name is called your rank/personal text.
For more information about this, please visit the Badge Central for details.
What are some bad ideas for thread topics/posting?
Okay, there are a gazillion things out there for one to make a post about. However, the majority of them posts are pretty bad.
Example, we are not your little homework help source; Don’t ask us to help you research something for your essay or anything. If you are looking for something on the internet, please use your head and use Google first before asking others to help you find something. Also, if you are bleeding, your arm is spazzing out, there is a parasite infesting your chest causing an unsightly rash, and you need medical advice… CALL A DOCTOR! NOW!
Making threads to rival other threads are PROHIBITED! Making a new thread for a locked thread is just plain idiotic. Please use your head and see why the locked thread was locked. Making a new thread to continue the locked thread defeats the purpose and we’ll make fun of you.
If you are still unsure if your post is worthy of being posted, you can always think “If I were someone else reading this topic, would I be interested in it?” If not, you probably would not want to post it.
Repetitive-ness and making a BIG deal out some things isn't tolerated here. Use your head and actually think before you post! If you get your point out once, that should be enough. Don't over do it and make a big deal about no one else paying attention to it... because it's obvious that no cares or maybe they just don't agree.
False made-up stuff that you keep stating is true is also frowned upon. Unless you actually own the show or something maybe but otherwise it's bull-poo! You don't have any significant power in the production of the show, stop spamming Joe Murray with these rather silly e-mails and stop thinking that you actually own the show.
**If you plan for your next post has some substance besides like "yeah." or "I don't agree." don't bother. Same goes for new and old threads! The threads are meant for DISCUSSION. Not meager mere constant bantering of sentences less than like 6 words. It's not a chat board. Good example of a good post? How about stating the reson why you disagree/agree? Or some informative analysis of the subject relevant to the topic. Same goes for RPs. Put some action/description into your RPing. Not crappy one-liners that make it more like an RP AIM chat.
Also don't be attention-hungry...and don't make threads/topics that are intentionally made to get you more attention. Excessiveness of the attention-needy is just annoying and to some point tolerable here.
Alot of what was mentioned before are frequent examples of members being stupid. All we ask of you is to not be stupid in a way that will annoy everyone.
What does "WHY" mean?
How about you USE A FREAKIN' DICTIONARY!!!111 [Heh. You should be grateful I gave you a link to that definition] This word is VERY important! When making a point in your threads/posts... you should be able to explain WHY you think that way with some evidence and some backup examples, whether it's logic, opinion, or something that makes sense in any way. Also... this saves Netaro the trouble of humiliating you by telling you to explain yourself. Remember this!
Alright! I want to complain! Who’s in charge?
If you want to complain, PM either Tiff, Sanna, or Netaro… as they are the administrators of the forum and junk. Contact them is you’ve got problems, comments, questions, general suggestions, or money to give to them.
What to I do if I have a problem with another forum member or perhaps a moderator?
If you’ve got a complaint about a forum member or you are being bugged to the MAX by someone, please contact the Staff and stuff.
I signed up for an account... and why is it taking so long?
We approve members by groups of 10 or twice each month. If you haven't been approved yet then most likely the staff will contact you by e-mail due to some whatever concern we have... Or we're just lazy.
I signed up for an account and I finally got approved... but then it got deleted 10 days later... what's up with that?
Not only we set up an approval system but we also set up a 10 day limit for accounts with no posts at all. I mean why make an account if you're not going to even use it except to browse when you can do so without an account. The forum is not set completely private or whatever. And we just don't want too many unactive members.
Uh… I got banned. What do I do?
Often before getting banned, a Staff member (most often Netaro) will confront you with issues and talk to you one-on-one via PM or some other internet source. However, if you did get banned… you totally disregarded the advice and junk and just kept doing what you were doing. Well tough love, eh?
If you feel that there was a mistake or something, please email a Staff member (not Netaro) and we’ll deal this on a case-by-case basis.
Can I have your password? Or some hint of what it is?
Uhhh... seriously... quit it... we're not stupid and you have the GALL to ask that. Why would we give you the password to our accounts?
We advise you to NEVER give out your password or very personal information to others! You can if you want to but use your best judgement.
Why would this person want to go into MY account when he/she/it can simply make one account for him/her/itself. No one not even the staff will ask you for your password (unless he/she/it has some really bad/low/lame intentions...).
If you have password trouble then please contact one of the staff people and we can easily set you up with a new password. Of course we may ask you a few questions pertaining to how much we know about you (just to make sure...) or something. Once you receive your new password, we strongly advise you to immediately change the password.
