He wanted to play the game at first but then he changes his mind coz he says "what have i done?"
We obviously have different opinions on this and we shouldn't try to force them on eachother.....

I honestly think Edward can go either way. I like the way the creators set him up like that. He can either really, really hate Lazlo and the Jellies because he 1. says so (often), 2. is constantly out to get Lazlo, 3. is jealous of Lazlo's popularity, 4. just seems like a generally unhappy guy.
Or you could debate that he secretly likes Lazlo (be it platonic or romantic) because 1. Edward can't be taken at face value ("I'm so manly! *brushes Veronica's hair*"), 2. there are numerous episodes where him and Lazlo work together fine (Gnome episode), 3. his joyous greeting and HUG (when else have we seen him hug anyone?) at the end of Edward's Big Bag, 4. him being thrilled at the idea of playing with Lazlo and the gang at the end of Friendward.
I tend to always keep it in the back of my head that, though it's a children's show, shows like this are made by ADULTS. There are so many adult jokes in kid shows. Joe Murray created Rocko's Modern Life back when I was a child. Looking back, I had no idea how many adult references there were -- often times sexual in nature. Rocko's Modern Life had a restaurant called Chokey Chicken (an obvious reference to *********ion... it had to be renamed to Chewy Chicken). There's an episode where Mrs. Bighead attempts to seduce Rocko. As a child, you don't see these things. But as you become an adult and your mind syncs up with those of the creators', you start to notice the adult references.
So it's not entirely crazy to say that there are adult references and relationships in Camp Lazlo. It just depends on whether or not you want to dig that deep. Take an example from Campers All Pull Pants Down. Edward not only bites off Lazlo's belt, but proceeds to whip him with it. Face value or something pretty erotic? You decide. It can go either way. However, I keep in mind that the creators are adults, and adults tend to pervert things.
Here's another random example -- once upon a time I watched a show called X-Men: Evolution. The character Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler) had more female love interests than anyone else in the show. And yet in an interview, one of the creators admitted that everyone on staff thought he was gay! So yet again, you can't always take things at face value. What's in the show might not be what's in the creators' heads. We already can be sure one of Edward's brothers is gay. Who's to say Edward isn't?
Sorry for the tl;dr.

it's okay (frankly this forum needs people who'll post more than one word like madonna, i used to be in an ed,edd,n'eddy forum everybody post wuz bigger than your head! they disscused things about the characters there!) frankly I like disscutions the more you talk about a character the more you know them frankly the whole whether or not edward likes or hates lazlo depends on a persons definition of hate lets check wikipedia shall we? Hatred is an emotion of intense revulsion, distaste, enmity, or antipathy for a person or thing, generally attributed to a desire to avoid, restrict, remove, or destroy the hated object. Hate can be based on fear of an object or past or present negative consequences of dealing with the hated thing. i dunno that sounds too harsh for what edward feels toward lazlo, plus how edward feels about lazlo is always so dependant on what lazlo's doing at the time (when lazlo is getting lots of attention, when lazlo's sillieness is getting the scouts into trouble, ect) usualy expecialy in more recent eps he's more tolerant of lazlo (he didn't even complain in camp complain that he was grouped with him in a club , when I hate someone i dont wanna go near them ) things change in creator studios all the time character tend to evolve over time... like edwards original bio would've said he hates lazlo and the jellies but as the series went on that sorta changed a bit ... i've always thought edward wus gay >> tho i'll probably get flamed for saying it . i mean after the doll , the flair for fashion , and what seems to be a complete disintrest in girls , (edward's jealouse of the squirrel scouts expensive camp but that seems about it most of the other boys have the dislike stemming from fear and mixed with curiosity reaction, which is more hetrosexual ) he keeps trying to over compensate his feminine nature with his manly act, (the only hetro thing he's done all these four seasons was checking out scoutmaster lumpus "now theres a lady "XD) tho edward's probably to young to be actualy gay , he's probably confused for now but there's probably like a what? 80% chance when he grows up he wont be looking for a girl in a relationship as for wether he supposed to be gay , betcha the creators are laughing at him right ......now! (((i like edward he's so complicated)))

I absolutely agree with you. I think there are way too many hints at Edward's future sexuality to be ignored. The doll, the fashion sense, the complete disinterest in girls (at least the others showed nervousness around them... Edward was just like, "NUH UH, NO WAY, BOYS SHOULD BE TOGETHER."), the fact that he not only accepted but embraced the idea of having a baby... all of it just kind of adds up. I think Edward definitely realizes he's different. I think he knows that deep down he's sensitive and in touch with his feminine side. That's why he tries to hide it so much. That's why he tries to be so "macho". He wants to be normal, but can't quite put his finger on why he isn't. And, well, it's because he's still a little boy (wait, didn't be become a "big boy" in one episode? ) but he'll realize it in the future. I would love an episode devoted to him and his brothers. I want to see a little more into his family life so I can try and figure out where he fits with them.

There's a possibility that Edward could be bisexual, ya know (seriously, has that term been wiped off the face of the world or what?). I have some friends that are bisexual and like... they happen to like girls more than guys... so why can't Edward be bi and just like guys more than girls? He doesn't have to be purely gay, ya know. I actually don't think Edward likes Lazlo. xP I mean... in "Where's Lazlo", when Lazlo first arrived at camp, he stole Edward's popularity or sumthin' (I can't really remember what he did xDD but he did SOMETHING!) and like... Edward truly hated him for stealing his spotlight. If I was him, I wouldn't be all like "OMG I LOVE HIM BECAUSE HE TOTALLY STOLE ALL MY FRIENDS! " I dunno about you guys though. xD To me, Edward's relationship wth Lazlo only seems like pure hatred. They're still in that "boys vs girls" stage now so obviously he doesn't really want to hang out with girls at this time. I mean, they're still young, so like they're really not gonna be in any actual "relationships" yet.

I don't think I ever explicitly said that Edward was gay... he could very well be bisexual. I'm bisexual. The option crosses my mind with characters just as often as "gay" or "straight" does. So no, the word hasn't been wiped off the face of the planet. I didn't put Edward in any category whatsoever -- like I said, he can be however you want to see him. Same with the other characters.

Well the way I see it, I'm really not sure what Edward could be, just because he hates the Squirrel Scouts doesn't technically mean he hates all girls. I'm just saying out loud there...

Yeah, I agree with the things with Sailor Phantom & Hyper Spartan have said. Just because he hates the squirrel scouts doesn't mean he hates all girls...I mean he certainly doesn't hate Veronica. I saw him as having a crush on her because he was hugging her & kissing her, he said "I can't let them know she's mine", Lazlo said "Edward does love Veronica and Veronica loves him", and er he was was making her say stuff like "you're so brave & strong Edward"
I remember pointing out Edward's relationship with Lazlo in "Where's Lazlo?" in another thread...Edward was like popular until Lazlo came along...and Lazlo was stealing all the attention, I don't think Edward liked that...
Personally, I just see him as a little boy who still hates girls (& most people XD)...(as Sailor Phantom said about the boys vs girls phase) But I have to admit he doesn't hate all girls because he likes Veronica & in The Engagement him & Samson are looking for girls- Samson: Where are all the hot babes? Edward: I hear u Sammy boy, I thought the chicks digged it Samson: Hold your horses Eduardo, check out that fine thang Edward: Now THAT'S a lady! And don't forget Edward is still the youngest bean scout.....

I just thought the word has disappeared because nobody seems to consider that option anymore, that's all. >_>; I agree! All the Bean Scouts are pretty much jealous of the Squirrel Scouts and all, so like, obviously they won't like them very much right now.

Alright. Here is me, to add my two cents on this Edward thing.
First of all, you do not have to hate the opposite sex to like the same sex. I know plenty of guys who are gay, and they have women friends. So, saying that Edward "hates girls" does not really add to your thinking that he might be gay.
Second of all, you do not know if he is really gay or bi. Granted, Edward might be, and there may be hints of this, but you do not know for sure. You do not know what Joe Murray is thinking, do you? If you ask Murray himself, please let me know.
Sorry, I have to throw in my opinion in there. Even though I may be an Lazlo/Edward shipper myself, this whole fight about the Lazlo and Edward thing is just ridiculous (sp?). You don't have to support a SLASH pairing to think the characters are gay or bi.
