Actually, as much as this movie was cool, I was majorly disappointed for 3 good reasons: 1. Not a single squirrel scout was featured; i was looking forward to seeing how Lazlo and Patsy met. 2. I didn't see how ALL of the scouts got into camp. 3. They said its 1 hour long, but minus the commercials, its 30 minutes long.

The things I loved the most about this movie was:
A) Lazlo's dancing intro. B) A very good plot. C) Had many "firsts" in it. While obviously it showed how Jelly Cabin came to be, it also showed:
When Samson first got hit by a volley ball When Skip and Chip got their flies How the Jelly Cabin totem pole was created (My personal favorite) Why Edward has a grudge against Lazlo
If you've seen any more "firsts" tell us!

I'm just a really optimistic reviewer.
And, yeah, like how Watcher mentioned, Clam seemed to have longer lines in this movie.

I have all of my anime club from my school hooked on Camp Lazlo, while we were in washington for the Katsucon anime convention. It was cold and wet outside so we hung out in the hotel, ate some chinese, and were laughing so obnoxiously, Bush complained. I loved the West side story gag in the beginning, and was really surprised how cranky Clam was. But then again Raj freggin tied him to the roof of the bus. Raj isn't very good with service and such. Tying bag boys to hoods of cars, and screaming at waiters for a lack of ice in ones drink. Shamie shame!

I think I laughed the most when Raj yelled out, "SRI LANKA!" Which all of you should know is the little island country at the point of India.
I really like this movie. Why? Because the characters were not out of character. Like, I thought Clam would be stupid like they portrayed him in Seasons 2 and 3. I'm glad he reverted to a more colorful self. I found it awesome that he's a pretty tough guy too. Talk about gaining more respect from Clam fans everywhere.
It's a very nice introduction movie that basically sums up the whole beginnings of Camp Kidney, like where Chip & Skip got their flies (or "fleas" from Loogie Llama), which Edward hate's him so much from the intense jealous and practically ruining his reputation, and basically how the whole Jelly Cabin thing emerged. The Jelly trio's characters were dead on and did not deviate off track at all. Very nice and very likable.
What I found strange was that, Scoutmaster Lumpus never at all during the movie correct the pronounciation of his name [LOOM-PUHS] like he did many times in Season 1. Heh. I also found it interesting that they let Skip say "I have to pee." I thought censors would change that to something more appropriate like "I have to go to the bathroom" or simply "I have to go." I think that was Murray's personal touch, in my opinion.
I liked Clam and Raj a lot in this episode. Really. Clam was tough and wasn't stupid at all... and he spoke a lot more. I would think with the personality we see now... that he used to act more actively before arriving at Camp Kidney... and that after, he became just a neutral kids with little words. Heh, I liked him angry. Raj was really the main character along with Clam, partly because he was telling the story himself... so yeah. Edward no longer runs the camp... so yeah.
That's all I have to say at the moment. This movie rocked... seriously. It's Camp Lazlo like it's supposed to be.

The "SRI LANKA!" bit made me crack up. My siblings didn't know the reason though. And you have to admit that Raj's Indian outfit at the beginning was so adorable. So I'm guessing he really does travel to the other side of the world to go to summer camp. And it was so random how Raj was just like "The other camper? You mean the luggage boy? I told him he had to sit on the top of the bus." Poor Clam!
And I would agree that he was much smarter in this. When Edward said the thing about a BLACK bear, I was like "It was a brown bear, I know my bear species." When Clam corrected him later on, I was happy to know that someone else knows thier bear species too. and he really did talk alot in this movie; which was great, because if he hadn't it would have been mainly Raj practically talking to himself throughout the whole movie.
And for Lazlo's enterance: the best I could possibly imagine! He had that little hula skirt on, workin it, haha. And I can't believe how boring Camp Kidney was before the Jelly Trio! I mean seriously, talk about nothing to do. A five by five foot swimming area, and so many rules......Edward was such a little suck-up too. And I could hardly believe Lumpus's no-blemish record. You would think that with the dung beetles and such it would be covered in blemishes.
So I just loved this movie all together. Totally in-character, and it had a great plot as well. I'd have to say that my favorite part was the scene at the Beef Lumberjack's, where Raj & Clam find Lazlo. The whole thing about the no-ice-in-the-water would have ticked me off too, and Raj was right for complaining, haha. And I loved how Lazlo was like, "And since I work here, I get these cool threads!" The dung beetles' line surprised me as well. "I have to pee." That was random, and they were really cute. "Go in that bush! No further, I can still see you!"
And I missed the totem pole part, so could someone fill me in?
And....
If anyone couls possibly in any way make copies of it, that would be great. I've been having such a bad week--and then I realize the dvd recorder I got especially for this occasion is not what I meant to get. I felt like dying. I NEED this movie to be recorded before it goes off the air for good. I was so desperate when I discovered that. And we have no reciept! So please please......for the sake of my family's money problem's and who knows what else....
I would like to have a copy.

I really loved this movie. I love how we got to see the origin of the Jelly Cabin. Raj telling Clam that he had to sit on top of the bus was funny, but still, poor Clam! LOL! Wow, for some reason I never would have thought there would have been any arguments or whatever between them when they first meet, but this episode clarified it. LOL!
Héh, well, I loved Lazlo’s entrance. It was brilliant. xD I loved the dance and the music! xD
And Edward, he hasn’t changed a bit, apparently. Taking credit for things that never happened in an attempt to make everyone think he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread.
And, of course, something else I enjoyed was the part where Scout Master Lumpus had had Samson pretend to be Lazlo with a banana. Goes to show Scout Master Lumpus wants to do anything to keep off a blemish on his record. Jeeze! But he got what was coming to him when Samson went, “He made me do it!!! Bad moose! You’re a BAD moose!!!” and whacked him in the head with the banana several times. XD Gold! ^_^
This movie I found was great, everyone was in character and the story played through quite well. If only it was a bit longer, it was to be a movie but it was only approximately 42 minutes excluding all commercials. -_-; But, nonetheless, I really enjoyed it. ^_^

We do actually see funny facts about the campers, like Lazlo doing the dance, Raj acting like a total wus, Clam being bullyish, and Edward making a giant lie about the bear: it's still too bad Patsy isn't seen, but we got to see a iot more of Samson and even Freddie there!

In my opinion, I not only saw Clam as a jerk when he first got to Camp Kidney, but he also seemed to be some sort of anti-bully when he stood up to Edward being a jerk to Raj.

This movie rocked! Plain and simple!
Everything about it explains everything in the series like how Edward has a grudge against Lazlo and how Chip & Skip got their flies. Oh, and you gotta love Lazlo's Carmen Miranda-like dance when he arrived! Classic!
Edward and Samson also had sizable roles in this movie. Gotta love Edward's boasting again andcowardice when he actually came face to face with the bear. Like Rabid Squirrel said before me, Samson was pretty funny too here when Lumpus was using him as a fake Lazlo with a banana in his hand and he shouted "He Made me do it!" when he rats out Lumpy.
Of course, Raj and Clam can't be left out of here either. It was interesting to see that they weren't always on the best of terms when they first arrived. Clam also appeared smarter than he was as of late, since he said several long sentences and knew his bear species when he realizes Edward was saying Black bear when it was really brown.
I only have two gripes about this movie, the abscence of the squirrel scouts and the coonskin hats. I despise those things because of my fan character Randy since he IS a raccoon.
All in all, not too bad for an (almost) hour's worth of time. GRADE: A-

Hmmm alot of the good points have been already said pretty much. So yeah the movie was great! I really liked how the movie showed the beginning unique-ness of the Jelly Cabin. I always wondered about that totem pole. XD; The Chip and Skip guarding the entrance really cracked me up about the bushes. XDDD
The winning characters in the movie was most certainly Lazlo. At first he didn't seem so different than the usual Lazlo we see in the episodes but I was a bit surprised when he didn't want to go back camp because he was more interested in new experiences rather than staying in one place. A bit of difference with the "Goodbye Camp Kidney" since the movie showed that Lazlo wasn't as attached to Camp Kidney as he is now.
Clam's dialogue is much longer than the usual 4 word sentences he blabs out. Like 10 words one time? Raj was well awesome. XD I did wish Lumpus had better portrayal of the Lumpus we usually see in the episodes but he wasn't the star so... yeah. I do DISAGREE that the Squirrel Scouts would improve the movie. I find that they tend to taake AWAY the spotlight from the main characters and in this just ruin the whole plot of the movie.
