Hi there. I know a lot of Japanese anime shows get dubbed & shown here in North America, but something I sometimes wonder about is this...
How popular are American cartoons over in Japan?
I find myself asking this with certain things. Stubbs The Zombie, Psychonauts, Happy Tree Friends, Monster House, etc. However, now I wonder how popular Camp Lazlo might be in Japan.
So, if introduced to Japan, how popular do you think Camp Lazlo might become over there?

Honestly, it would be like all the other kid shows they have over there. I have no idea what they do watch over there. All I know is that they have animd over there..........

I do believe that cartoons are popular Japan, as Anime is popular to us over here (United States). However, I'm not exactly sure if Camp Lazlo would be popular over there or not...
However, I would love to hear Lazlo and Edward's Japanese voices if it did get "dubbed" there. x3 Hehe.

Ditto here.
It's something I never really gave thought to before. I think it could be possible that Camp Lazlo, along with many other American made cartoon, can be very popular in Japan as how Japanese animation is popular in the US.

That's an interesting thought. I think that CN's Japanese site is www.cartoon.co.jp/, so according to their line-up, I don't see Camp Lazlo. Maybe they'll dub it in the future though. The popularity of the show would be interesting too. I guess you can't really say for sure until it actually airs. It'd be interesting to know, though! Hopefully it's not like how Hamtaro was for the US, which got cut short 192 episodes and all 4 movies. :P

Yeah, that'd be interesting. He'd probably sound all high-pitched like he was 6 years of age, or younger.

Yeah, can you imagine Lazlo's face on 1 of those big Japanese billoboards? I'd imagine over there, it'll be called ƒLƒƒƒ“ƒvLazlo.

Having watched some Japanese anime myself, I think that CL in Japan would be just like anything else over there. Plus, I think that the Japanese seiyu (voice actors) would do a tremendous job as their American counterparts.

Yeah, however, I believe that if CL gets dubbed like in Japanese, we may hear Lazlo say "crap" in Japanese.
